Sonia, did your LOUDON keep the same spelling when they came to the USA? Lowden/Taylor, Pittenweem - Cupar Does this mean the 1851 Edinburgh will be released in full? I'm hoping to find my Stephenson family in or near Fleshmarket Close, where they were in 1841. When I can get out of the house again - had surgery so it will be a while - I'm going to order the film at the LDS. We're still hoping to go to Pittenweem this year. JAMES LOUDON - JANNET TAYLOR were probably married in the vicinity as they had children baptised there from 1768 to 1776. Can't find them in OPR's 1777 - 1782. James Lowden became jailer at Cupar by 1783, when he is so described in Cupar OPR's - he and Jannet had children baptised at Cupar from 1783 to 1789, including Ann, my line, bapt. 1785. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Will be glad to share what I have on the family. Kathy, I don't know if any of them came to the U.S., but wouldn't be surprised. James Pocock Sr. who was born in England m Ann Lowden at Cupar. Hugh Eskew Stephenson was also born in England. Their children James Pocock and Isabella Stephenson married at Edinburgh in 1839, and this couple's daughter Isabella Pocock went to London and married William Jordan Fuller - my GG's. There are several variant spellings of Lowden in the Pittenweem and Cupar OPR's, all records of the same family. (I'm the first known US generation, married an American in 1955.)
