Hi Bob, The problem is that John's (abt 1819-1884) parents on his death record are listed as William Mowat and Margaret Low BUT I can only find trace of William Mowat and the Isabel Low (that you have listed here). I don't want to jump in and put Isabel into the tree, if his wife was really Margaret. I just can't find any trace of a William Mitchell & Margaret Low. I wonder what the odds are that there would be 2 couples: William Mowat & Margaret Low William Mowat & Isabel Low in South Leith at the same time.. what's your opinion? I wonder if Low had a middle given name such as Margaret or Isabel, with one being used as the normal name.
