    3. Bob - I had to actually go to the NAS in Edinburgh and go thru the Kirk Session records to find my ancestors were discussed as a widow and orphans. They have the records digitized, but I don't know why they aren't available yet on-line. I've never been able to find proof of the father's death or burial, but am thinking of going thru the estate records next time I am in Edinburgh. Perhaps you could hire someone in Edinburgh to find the records. It might be less expensive than going there yourself.
