Hi Elinor, Thanks for the contact. My Michael Dunn was Irish, living in Scotland. On the 1841 census, he was listed in a household in Kirkintilloch, married Catherine McGuire (McWare on the census) somewhere around then, and died May 7, 1851 in Maybole. Catherine remarried to John Roddy between 1851 and 1853. I cannot seem to find anything about Michael Dunn except his death record. The Irish genealogical site told me that if I didn't know where he was from, I had little chance of finding anything about him. I can only hope to stumble upon someone who knows who he is!
