Thank you all, I had an idea it was around Lasswade, but couldn't be sure.William and his wife had 2 children in Lasswade the rest in Dalkeith and Roslyn. I have decided that the Mother's first name of both, William Brown and his wife have been switched, William's Mother was Mary, and his wife's mother was Margaret. Thanks everyone for your help. Ruth
