Hello Christine How can you be sure that he was born in 1869 and in Musselburgh? Is it based on information from a census or from some other document? Is it possible that he was born before the couple married? If so, his birth may have been registered under the name John Gallaghan or perhaps Callaghan or Callachan. I can't find him on Scotlands People either. And I couldn't find him on Family Search (IGI).. no, from his death record and where he lived. However, he was married in Linlithgow. No luck on any of the John Donachie's listed on SP for Lanarkshire.
