    3. Thanks Rhoda for your reply. My research on Thomas Masson indicates that he probably died as an infant as did 2 of his sisters and they are all buried in St Andrews Monastery graveyard together with other family members. It is my thinking that if my Thomas (my great grandfather) used a false identity to join the Sappers & Miners it could well be that of Thomas Masson.
