I am looking for information about a John Cook, who, in April, 1700, is called a " town officer " for Leith. This comes from the birth record of his son Robert, who might be my 7th great grandfather. John Cook's wife is called " Elizabeth Ross ".

Dear Bob:        Thank you for the information. I already had some of it, from the Scotland's People website. My trouble is, that my 7th great grandfather, Robert, first shows up as an indentured servant, in the employ of a " Mr. Boyd ", in St. Mary's County, Maryland.
