    3. Barbara I would try the East Lothian List. North Berwick is in East Lothian and the name of the road is 'St Baldred's Road'. If I remember rightly, this is a street of fairly large houses; did your Douglas Crawford have his own bakery business? North Berwick is about 20 miles east of Edinburgh and is within the Edinburgh commuter zone. There was a well-known baker called Crawfords in Edinburgh in the 1950s and '60s. I think they had a shop and restaurant on the North Bridge, beneath what was then the North British (now Balmoral) Hotel. They used to make the most wonderful chocolate eclairs and cream cookies! Have never tasted anything like them since.
