The following children are listed: John Christopher L. b. 19.March 1834 at St. Cuthberts Helen b. 25 Aug. 1836 also at St. Cuthberts. Between 1836 and 1855 there are 24 John LANEs listed on ScotlandsPeople in Midlothian. Your John could well be one of them.
