Thanks, James and Alistair! I've ordered the films of St. Cuthbert's indexed marriages covering 1841 - 1855, which may give me the marriages of the girls who were in the family in 1841, and lead to finding their death certs. If I can find their married names, there is hope of finding them in the 1851 census and getting birthplaces. What I'm really hoping to find is the father, Hugh Eskew Stephenson, and his daughter Margaret in 1851, as both were listed in 1841 as born "England" - hopefully the 1851 will give a county of birth. The names Pocock and spelling Stephenson are uncommon, so there is a good probability that any Stephensons and Pococks in Edinburgh in 1851 belong to my families. All the best, Sonia

Dear Sandi, I was informed that my James ANDREW of New Jersey was the son of William ANDREW & Annabel HUNT. When I checked the IGI, I found their marriage dtd 09 May 1703 at St Cuthbert's in Edinburgh. My James ANDREW was married to Catherine LIVINGSTON d/o Daniel LIVINGSTON. I noticed that Rachel ANDREW d/o William ANDREW widow of Thomas PATERSON married a Robert LIVINGSTON in South Leith. So here is were I stand. Regards, Lance L. Piatt (Bremerton, Washington)
