Has anyone any information on Thomas Johnstone, crofter and his wife Jane Thomson living at 24 Salisbury Street, Edinburgh in 1820? They were my 3 x greatgrandparents, and because of the common names, I have been unable to find anything about them or their family - all I have is their daughter Jane born about 1795. Doreen.
I have just seen you e-mail - I have ketchen's in my family tree - they would appear to be grocers living in Newton and born in Eddlestone Peebles - John Ketchen married to Janet Wright. This any use to you? Fay Byers

Many thanks to those you helped me with my query on Preston House but have still been unable to find out anything about the house itself from the links, it is mentioned but gives no details. If there is anyone who is connected to the Blair family who has connections with this house I would be very interested in hearing from them. Thanks again, Diane

Hello Craig, I am also searching for the Ross family, though I believe we are searching in different locations. I have not discovered any Isabella Ross; however, you are about 15 years farther back than I have gotten. I will keep a lookout...and will keep your email contact, just in case. I have my Ross family in the Bathgate-Kirkliston-Broxburn area in the 1855 (to present) time period. I believe their father James Ross (b. circa 1826) was from Morayshire; though he is one of my brick walls. He married Mary Ann Magdalene Garden in New Macher (I believe this is near Aberdeen). They settled in Bathgate and had a large family. James' father was William Ross who married Elisabeth Sim (Syme). Don't know if any of this helps you. Does anyone have any information on the above names from the late 1500's? I believe that Michael Flockhart (b. 1572) was married to Bessie Tailyeour (b. 1574) and Andrew Hepburne (b. 1569) was married to Agnes Broune (b. 1571). Descendants reside in Inveresk, Duddingston and Liberton areas. Flockhart has many variations including Fluker, Flucker, Flooker, etc. Thanks and Merry Christmas, Craig A. Ross
