I would suggest that if you have found LMA's site unhelpful, then this almost certainly indicates that you could do with some help and advice as to how to get the best from the site. Simply criticising will achieve nothing, however if you could tell the List exactly what it is you are seeking - so far unsuccessfully - then there are many here who can help you. Believe me, LMA has a wealth of records available both on and off line and there is no reason at all why one shouldn't be able to progress back prior to 1837. The whole purpose of this forum is to help but we can only do so given facts and details of what is required. So please tell the kind folk exactly what it is that you have not been able to find and the combined wealth of experience will be able to advise you.
