Thanks to John Henley for the link to the London map. At first this link didn't appear to be working as everywhere seemed to be greyed out, but as you clicked the plus sign and zoomed in, the streets appeared, and there were even workhouses listed and things like electric lighting company etc. The detail was brilliant and for someone who doesn't know London well, a speedy way of finding things. You can select the general area you're looking for (by parish) and it takes you right there. I found North Street in Marylebone in minutes where I couldn't even locate the general area in other online maps and spent ages going backwards and forwards. Jean Belfitt
