I wonder if anyone is able to help me translate an entry on the 1851 census. The reference is HO.107 1702 and the address is 23 High Street Hornsy, Winchester Hall. The item that is causing me trouble is the occupation of William MARRINER, 19, who is listed as the nephew of the head of household (Giles REDMAYNE). The occupation looks to be something like: Exibitioner Sim: Col Ox I believe an Exhibition at Oxford University is a form of scholarship. Is this what its likely to mean or is it something completely different ? Thanks Norman Jessup
