It seems you have to register to find out you have to pay 65GBP in order to contact members who may not even reply. Very disappointing, esp as the lead Jan gave me showed there was someone there who was a cousin twice over, ie a cousin to me on two different lines! -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk http://www.savethegurkhas.co.uk/

    3. Genes Reunited are very coy at not making it easy to see the cost of joining at their web site, but my renewal was UKP6.50 for the next 12 months. I think the UKP65 you saw must be for other than the basic account. 3. Hi Jan, There is someone who has a SPILLARD family tree on the Ancestry site that includes a Patrick CARMODY born about 1841 living at St. Marylebone. The 1851 census entry quoted by the tree owner shows parents James Carmody and Catherine. Siblings are shown as Mary, James, William & Catherine the baby of the family. There is also a Catherine Maloney in the household aged 20 who is a married daughter of James and Catherine Carmody. James & Catherine were both born Ireland but all children shown born Marylebone. The reference for that 1851 census entry is HO107 piece 1486 folio 79 page 34 You would have to be a subscriber to Ancestry.co.uk to be able to contact the tree owner but you can buy pay per view units for the site. Just 6.95GBP allows you 14 days use and you can view 12 pages during those days, 1 unit = 1 view over the whole of ancestry.co.uk . Could be worth the cost if it means you make contact with the owner of that tree, and can see what other Carmody family she has found perhaps If you buy any units or a take up any free trial to the Ancestry site you "must" remember to cancel the subscription or free Trial a couple of days before the period comes to an end, as per the instructions given when you sign up. If you fail to Cancel then your credit card will be charged for a years subscription to the site. There is a simple Cancelation system to use, the onus is on you to Cancel and not on Ancestry to unsubscribe you. So make sure you read the Terms and Conditions, see link to T&Cs at the bottom of the home page, before you sign up and understand what you are signing up to, if you do choose to subscribe. Regards Jenny DeAngelis Spain. << census of the whole Patrick Carmody family, and someone is >> going to try and check on Genes Reunited for me to see IF anyone on >> there has any relationship to the family. >> It's my last hope of ever finding out a possibility of info on my >> direct Carmody family.
