    3. Hi Hazel, Go to rootsweb.com/mailing lists then scroll down to the box for fiding a mailing list, I thin it is the second box down the page. Type Staffordshire in that box and if you get up more than one list in the results click on each one in turn in order to search or browse each lists archives. Doing this might help you to decide which list would be most suited to your needs. Some lists will be busier than others I expect. You might even find that searching one of those lists for surname that interests you in that area could show other people researching the name or even your family in Staffs. Someone wrote about keeping an eye open for County boundary changes over time. I find the best place to do this is on the genuki site www.genuki.org.uk This site covers the whole of the UK and Ireland with a genealogical angle. Each country is set out by it's counties, with a main page for each county, each county page has a list of Towns and parishes, very often, if not always, each town or parish name has beside it another link to "Nearby Places" which will show all the little hamlets & Villages etc., near by. You might be surprised by what you can find on the Genuki site, I have been going back to it time and again over the last 12 years of my research and always manage to find something of interest and often helpful leads, especially when my research has moved from one county to another and I am at a loss as to where to begin looking in that new county. Some county's pages have more information on them than others as each county page is maintained by a volunteer administrator. Those admins., are always looking for items to add to their county pages. Users of the site who have produced their own useful items, perhaps an index or article of some kind to do with the county or a town/parish etc., can contact the county admin., via the e.mail address given for each county admin., with a view to donating their item to the relevant county pages. Regards Jenny DeAngelis Spain. <<> Hello > Could someone please tell me what rootsweb sit i should join to try and > locate a family at Burslem and Wolstanton, Stafford.>>
