Hi Sue There was more than one Stanley Street, and as your ancestor's death was registered in the St George Hanover Square District, the more likely one in this case would probably be the one which is now called Alderney Street - it runs north west from Lupus Street. This street formed part of the development of Pimlico undertaken by the builder Thomas Cubitt in the mid 19th century. Most of the original building are still standing, so you can "walk" the area via Google Street View. All I stand corrected - the street known as Alderney street was Stanley Street and was in the district of St George Hanover Square. My apologies. Coincidently, Alderney Street is in the news today due to a grisly finding and Police investigations.
