    3. Yes I have tried several like: IRELAND- ROOTS@rootsweb.com IRELAND@rootsweb.com IRELAND-GENWEB@rootsweb.com That is where I got the information that the census was not available until 1901 as most were destroyed. Unable to determine if Thomas and Catherine Hyland were his parents.

You may never be able to. I've had to give up on two Irish born ancestors. I know the father of one but not the mother. The other one ought to have been easier but wasn't. Both were from Co Cork.
