Would some of you very helpful folk please have a look at the 1841 Census for me please. RG: HO 107 Piece: 652 Book/Folio: 8/13 Page 18. I am trying to make out the occupation of Sarah Skene aged 25. I have not been able to find any other Sarah Skenes in this census but she seems to be quite a long way from home (Poplar). Allowing for the rounding down the age could be right - my Sarah born 1812. Many thanks Robyn Fulton Sydney NSW
My vote is dressmaker. Definitely something maker, and I think the dr are written together and the first s is the long one like an F. According to Parloc parish locator, the distance between Poplar and Edmonton is only 7.9 miles.
