    3. Hi Listers, Recently, I sent an enquiry to you wonderful listers, and have now received confirmation that it is our Sarah whom we have been searching for years for. She was the last of 13 children to be found what happened to. The records did not only show the name, but the _Street_ where they lived, _Munster Street, Pancras_, and her age in days, _18 days_. I am over the moon, and just wanted to let you all know that you can be lucky. Anne

    3. Many thanks to Graeme, but don't think they are in the right district. Caroline, sorry about the century mistake, 1750 is a much better era. That is the family and you found three extra children that I didn't know about - fantastic. Yes she did marry William STRONG 19 Oct 1771. I had only just found what I thought was her parents, now need to find William's, which is a complete blank wall. He would be a little older than her born about 1745. Many thanks to you both for your help, much appreciated Pam.......NZ Hi Pam I think you have got a little muddled with your centuries here! A Judith EWINS, daughter of James and Mary, was baptised at St Mary, Rotherhithe, on 18 March 1753 aged 13 days. A couple with the same names Baptised a James in 1751, Ann in 1755 and Edward in 1756, also at St Mary, Rotherhithe. A Judith EWINS married William STRONG at St Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey in 1771. Hope this helps Caroline

    3. Or probably not, as patient records are subject to 100 year closure. What is it you are seeking from an obituary, Elaine? Perhaps if you gave us a bit more information (though being careful not to name individuals who may still be alive), we can point you in a more fruitful direction. If there is one at all, it's more likely to be in a local paper, not all of which are available online. Again, there wouldn't be one unless the deceased was a local worthy or the family paid for one. Obits and death notices aren't the norm in the UK. Please remember that although the person of interest died in 1955, there are likely to be living relatives who may not welcome having their family member named on the internet. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Greinton and Clutton, SOM Asst OPC for Ashcott and Shapwick, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk http://www.savethegurkhas.co.uk/

    3. Hi Listers, I wonder if one of you wonderful people could point me in the right direction to finding the actual record of this death/burial. These details have been sent to me by my cousin, to see if I could find them. Swithin Horne & his wife Eliza Matthews lived at 9 Munster Street, Regents Park, at the time their daughter, Sarah was born. On the Greenwood's map of 1827, there is a St James Burial Ground to the right on my printed map -- maybe this should be East of Munster Street (now no longer there) Firstly, can someone confirm if this St James Burial Ground would be classed as Westminster at the time? If not. can someone tell me where that St James, Westminister, would be? Secondly, I have looked at Ancestry England Deaths & Burials and cannot now find how we used to go to the records of the actual churches, H E L P Thirdly, Is this one of the churches, that is not handled by Ancestry? In 1842 Swithin purchased a Grave plot at Kensal Green Cemetery which has Swithin, Eliza, three of their sons plus Eliza's mother, Sarah Matthews, (widowed wife of James Matthews). These 6 were buried between 1842 and 1886. There is a headstone in the form of a rectangular box which has been found, with huge rejoicing.
