Mr. Blansit was born on April 20, 1971 in Battle Creek to Michael Prieur and Valarie (Millard) Prieur. He had been a long time resident of the Coldwater area. Mr. Blansit enjoyed his most recent job working as a CNA at the Laurels of Coldwater and had been looking forward to starting a career in Nursing. Mr. Blansit enjoyed his free time taking part in various hobbies including; shooting pool, playing guitar, singing and spending time with family and friends. His family stated that Shawn had a great sense of humor and was loved by many people, there will be a large void left by Shawns death. He is survived by his mother, Valarie (Craig) Millard-Combs of Noblesville, Indiana; his father, Roger Blansit of Coldwater; a son, Christian Blansit of Coldwater; brothers, Brian Blansit of Coldwater, Andy Combs, & Jonathon Combs both of Noblesville, IN; step-brothers, Dustin Lindsey of Japan, Brandon Lindsey of Coldwater; sisters, Lisa (Dan) Vikmirovich of South Bend, IN, and Hannah Combs of Noblesville, IN; step-sister Lorinda Lindsey of Quincy; grandfather, Ernie Millard of Tekonsha; grandmother, Esther Blansit of Fremont, IN; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a son, Jordan Blansit, July 13, 1989; his father, Michael Prieur, 1975; grandmother, Amanda Millard in 1999; and his grandfather, Earl Pete Blansit in 1982. There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, May 3 at 2:00PM at the United Methodist Church of Girard with Pastor John Scott officiating. A private interment of his cremains will take place at West Clarendon Cemetery.
