Friends may call at the funeral home from tomorrow noon until the hour of the service. Mrs. Buell was born here August 10, 1873, the daughter of Mr and Mrs. Eugene Palen. In 1899 She married Samuel Buell who died in 1925. She was born Feburary 7, 1939 in Battle Creek, Mich., a daughter of Willard S. and Neva (Mayo) Green. She has lived in the Mottville area since 1968, coming from Niles, Mich. On April 18, 1959, she married Harold D. Bryarly Jr. in Niles. He died October 27, 1996. She was a homemaker and had worked at Syndicate Store Fixtures in Middlebury, Ind. and Kenco. She was a self-employed housekeeper. She was an honorary member of the Pokagon Long Rifles, the Medicine Bear Clan, and Brothers of the Wind. Her greatest joy was helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchild; and helping them to obtain their goals. Surviving are: two daughters, Pamela Bigelow of White Pigeon and Paula Wilson- Case (Mike Schneider)of LaGrange, Ind.; one son Harold D. Bryarly III of White Pigeon. Five grandchildren: Nicholas and Matthew Bigelow, Mrs.Larry(Kelly) Cowels, Zebulon Wilson, and Joseph Case; a great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Bigelow; Three step great-grandchildren; Larry Jr.,Nathan and Jesse Cowels; a sister, Mary Ann Burdue of Niles. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her husband. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Thursday at the Mottville Bible church with Rev.Micheal Bender and Rev.Ted Jones officiating. Arrangements are being handled by the Farrand Funeral Home of White Pigeon. Memorials may be made to the White Pigeon Township library or the Mottville Bible Church. "Bud" Bryarly Jr., 58, of 69639 Thomas Rd., died at his home after an extended illness. He was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Elkhart, IN, a son of Harold Dale and Evelyn (Drudge) Bryarly Sr. On April 18, 1959, he married Nancy L. Green in Niles. They moved to Mottville Twp., White Pigeon, MI in 1968. He was employed at Interstate Manufacturing in Mottville for six years as a trimmer in the wood department. He also owned the Mottville Black Powder Shop and was a trader of black powder items and muzzle loaders. He was a member of the St. Joseph County Conversation Club of Sturgis, director of the Black Powder Range, and was affiliated with the Pokagon Long Rifles, Brothers of the Wind of Indiana and other groups of the Pre-1840's Rendezvous reinactments of the old days. Surviviing are his wife: two daughters, Mrs. Kim (Pamela) Bigelow of Mottville, and Paula Wilson-Case of Scottville; one son, Harold D. Bryarly III of Mottville; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew Bigelow, Kelly and Zebulon Wilson, and Joseph Case; his mother, Evelyn Artley of Elkhart, IN; four sisters, Mrs. Jerry (Sharon) Neely, Janice Alwine, Mrs. Danny (Mary) Dull, and Mrs. Doug (Nancy) Albaugh, all of Elkhart, IN; one brother, Richard C. Artley of Elkhart, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; his stepfather, Eugene D. Artley, and his grandparents. There will bo no visitaion. Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Mottville Bible Church with the Rev. Dennis Snyder officating. Memorials may be directed to the Hospice pf Sturgis or thew Mottville Bible CHurch. Death was due to coronary thrombosis. A life long area farmer, Mr. Skuse was born in Jefferson Township, Jan. 2, 1898, and was a son of Albert and Ida M. Newton Skuse. On Nov. 15, 1919, he married Golda Fisher and the couple has since resided on Losey Road. Mr. Skuse served on the Hillsdale County Board of Supervisors since 1939 and was chairman in 1951. He was chairman of the Pittsford Farm Bureau and trustee of the Pittsford Weslyan Methodist Church. Surviving besides his widow are two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Miller of Hudson and Mrs. Gladys Rahling of Toledo, O. Funeral services were held in the Dutcher Funeral Chapel in Hillsdale Sunday afternoon with Rev. Olson Clark, assisted by Rev. Percy Bonney, officiating. Burial was in the Leonardson Memorial cemetery at Pittsford. NOTE: According to the SSDI, Golda Skuse died in April, 1979 - last residence was Pittsford, Michigan. Martin will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary with open house Sunday afternoon from 2 to 6 in the home of their son-in-law, and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Burr W. Tucker, 379 Squawfield Road. Clyde R. Martin and Ina R. Crook were united in marriage at the bride's home April 25, 1911 by Rev. A.C. Bedford of Allen, a former minister of Lickly's Corners. Their attendants were Earl Mohr and the bridegroom's sister, Myrtle Martin, both of whom plan to attend the open house. Both Mr. and Mrs. Martin were born in Hillsdale County and have spent all their married lives in the county except one year in Lansing and one and one- half years in Jackson. Mr. Martin served as township clerk, supervisor, and secretary of the telephone company before becoming county clerk and then worked 13 years as a guard at Jackson prison before retiring to their present home at 1001 Prattville Road, near Lickly's Corners where they are active members of the Methodist Church and Grange. Mr. Martin has been a member of the Wright's Township Men's Chorus since its organization. The couple has one daughter, Mrs. Burr Tucker (Mildred) and one foster daughter, Mrs. Leland Lewis (Vivian Marsh) of North Adams; two granddaughters, Mrs. Harry Chase (Judy) and Karen, also one grandson, Douglas Lewis. Marshall, died in the Thorne Memorial Hospital in Hudson shortly before 12:30 this morning, as the result of burns suffered when she acidently sat in a pail of nearly boiling water in her home near here about 3:30 yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Marshall, assisted by Miss Catherine Cole, where canning meat when the accident occured. She had just poured the water from the boiler on the stove into a large mop pail which she sat near the sink. The child, known as "Patsy" went to the sink to wash her hands, and it is believed that she stumbled backwards into the pail. When she sat in it, the pail tipped over, throwing the scalding water over her. Miss Cole took her from the pail and tried to hold her clothes from her body while the mother went to summon a physician. They have no phone. The girl was made as comfortable as possible, and remained conscious until after six o'clock. The little girl would have been five years old August 1. She was a member of the kindergarden class of the Congregational Sunday School. She leaves her father and mother; a sister, Nancy Jean; three brothers, Hiram, Richard, and Phillip, a grandmother, Mrs. Lillian Marshall, an aunt, Miss Ola Marshall, all of Pittsford, an aunt. Mrs. Mrytle Cutler of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and an uncle, JesseRoberts of Shreveport, Louisiana. The funeral services will be held in the home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Burial will be in Leonardson Memorial Cemetery.
