Bachorik, age 91, of Battle Creek, died Monday, December 17, 2007 in Orlando, Florida. She was the daughter of Paul L. Pike and Laura H. Mohler. Helen was born in East Leroy and grew up on her family's farm there. She attended East Leroy's one-room Blackett School through eighth grade, graduated from Lakeview High school in 1934, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Michigan State College in 1939. Helen was a member of several teachers' associations, including the Calhoun County Counselors Association, the Michigan Personnel and Guidance Association, the Battle Creek Home Economics Association, the Preceptor Laureate Delta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the First Congregational Church. Her husband of 59 years, Cyril Bachorik, passed away last year. Her first husband, Tom Miller, died in WWII. In accordance with her wishes, a cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held in Battle Creek next spring. Memorials may be directed to the Jack K.
