Rose ST. JOHNS -- William D. Rose of 1413 South Lansing Street died Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7:45 a.m. in Clinton Memorial Hospital after several years of poor health. He was 83 years old. Services were held Saturday, Feb 6, at 1 p.m. at the Hoag Funeral Home, Burial was in Freeport, the city that Mr. Rose was born in. HE LIVED in the St. Johns area since 1935, and was an employee of the Detroit Creamery for 37 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Stewart and Miss Charlotee Rose, both of St. Johns; two sons, Arthur J. of Jackson and Chester M. of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Sutliff of Lansing; and a brother, George of Battle Creek. Lansing Street, age 76, died unexpectedly at Clinton Memorial hospital at 7 a.m. Monday, April 9. She had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12 (today), at 11 a.m. at the Hoag Funeral HOme with the Rev. D. E. Weitz officiating. Burial will be at Freeport, Mich. LEONA S. Rose was born at Freeport on May 22, 1885, the daughter of Jacob and Matilda Childs Schmelcher. She was married to William Rose at Freeport on Aug 7, 1904 and they have lived in St. Johns since 1935. Mrs. Rose was a member of theChurch of the Nazarene. Mrs. Markiewicz was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 83, the Rosary Society of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a Gold Star Mother. (Ted) Of Jackson, passed away Friday at Chelsea Community Hospital, age 67. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Bernice; a daughter, Sandy (Jeff) Pappaianni of Nanjemoy, MD; two sons, Hank (Diane) Kurzynowski and Larry (Karen) Kurzynowski both of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Jeffery, Lisa, Scott, Nicole, Valerie, Dawn and Amy; two sisters, Vicki (louie) Kusiak and Annette (Roger) Sharpe both of Michigan Center; three brothers, Adam (Sophia) Kurzynowski of Jackson, Frank (Pauline) Kurzynowski and George Kurzynowski both of Michigan Center; sister-in-law, Emma Kurzynowski of Jackson; numerous neices and nephews. Proceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Frances Kurzynowski and brothers, John, Ed, and Leo. Mr. Kurzynowski was a retiree from Clark Equipment with 30 years of service, a member of Clark Retirees Club, Polish Falcons and an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman. He is at the S.D. Lauer Funeral Home where services will be held Tuesday 9:30 a.m. and to St. John Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
