Age 87 Of Battle Creek, MI She was born in Battle Creek on February 3, 1920, to Chester and Elsie M. (Stevens) Courtright and was a lifelong resident. Dorothy was a 1938 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. In 1943, she received a two-year teaching degree from Western Michigan University and taught at Kellogg Agricultural School. After her boys went to school, Dorothy continued her education, graduating from Western Michigan. She spent most of her elementary teaching years at Lincoln School, retiring after 27 years with the Battle Creek Public Schools. Dorothy was married to Floyd Robert "Bob" Wilber on July 29, 1943 in Battle Creek. She is survived by her husband of 64 years; two sons, Steven R. (Delores) Wilber of Grand Rapids and Donald A. (Sherry) Wilber of Portage; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis Pratt, of Venice, FL. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Dorothy was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taugh! t Sunday School. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority. She enjoyed traveling, reading and especially loved spending time with her family. At the request of the family, friends may call after 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, where they will be received 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM. Services to celebrate Dorothy's life will be officiated by Dr. Donald R. Ferris at the First United Methodist Church 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2008. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or Boy Scouts of America Nottawa Trails District Campership Fund.
