Information courtesy of Sharon Warner, Homer Index. Roxie Risner, 92, of Homer, died at her residence, Monday, October 4, 1999, following a long illness. Mrs. Risner was born February 28, 1907 in Prestonburg, Kentucky, to Charles and Lula (Dotson) Hackworth. She married Sherman Risner November 30, 1926, and he preceded her in death in 1986. Mrs. Risner was a homemaker and a member of Christ Apostolic Church in Albion. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Vinetta Hackworth of Homer, Mrs. Joyce (Loretta) Miller of Florida, Mrs. Kenneth (Juanita) Brown of Parma, Mrs. Roberta Owens of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, Mrs. Maxine Yeager and Mrs. Doris Owens, both of Homer; 19 grandchildren; several great- and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Oma Manns of Indiana; and six bothers, Wayne Hackworth, Charles Hackworth Jr. and Thurman Hackworth, all of Kentucky, Elmer Hackworth and Vernice Hackworth, both of Stockbridge, and Vernal Hackworth of Indiana. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Risner was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Patrick and Thelma Hackworth, and a brother, Herman Hackworth. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Christ Apostolic Church, with the Revs. David Trammell and Ron Hackworth officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. The George White Funeral Home in Litchfield handled the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Apostolic Church.
