She was born October 16, 1930, in Blytheville, Arkansas, the daughter of James Cline and Marie (Newsom) Dobbs. A resident of Portage, MI from 1947 until 1980, she worked in the purchasing department of the Gibson Guitar Company for 20 years and also had worked at Keyes-Davis in Kalamazoo for several years. In 1980, she moved to Battle Creek and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, crocheting, sewing and golf. On February 12, 1982, she was married to Merritt W. Schoder, who survives. Also surviving are children, Paula (Rob) Stork and James (Sherrie) Lipford, both of Portage, Russell (Betsy) Lipford of Anderson, Indiana, Patricia (Dr. Stephen) Saxton of Cassopolis, Jan Myers, Nancy Kilburn and Sandy Dull, all of Battle Creek and Maria (Keith) Rosine of Portage; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Annie Tusing and Joseph Royan (Willie Faye) ! Dobbs both of Dell, Arkansas, Maurine Dobbs of Blytheville, Arkansas and Christine Dobbs of Slidell, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara M. Schoder in 1983. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at St. Jerome Catholic Church with Rev. Father John Tran, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Parkinson's Foundation. Arrangements by Richard A. Henry Funeral Home 703 Capital Ave. S.W.
