Of Kalamazoo, MI Died Sunday morning December 2, 2007 at Alamo Nursing Home where she had received loving care since 2003. She was born October 30, 1914 in Albion, MI to Peter V. and Gladys (Canfield) Tanas. She grew up in Battle Creek, MI and graduated from Lakeview High School. She married Clark Bradley Lang in 1934 and they lived in the Lakeview area all of their married lives. She loved being a homemaker and being hostess at family dinners and barbeques. She enjoyed gardening, golf, music and going to the Barn Theater, especially with her good friend, Grace Blackmore. She was an avid reader and loved animals and was rarely without a cat companion. For many years, she worked at the Woodlawn Nursery in Battle Creek. Following her move to Kalamazoo, she worked at the Family Independence Agency in the Voluntary Services Department. She loved both jobs and the people she worked with and she continued to work part-time until she was 85 years old. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lawren! ce, grandchildren, Shelley (Bill) Long, Peter (Karen) Lawrence and five great-grandchildren and a niece, Caroline Betz and her son, Nicholas. She is also survived by a nephew Richard A. (Andy) Tanas and a niece, Adrienne Martin. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Clark; an infant son; a granddaughter, Kathleen Lawrence; two sisters, Jeane K. North, Diane L. Betz; and a brother, Richard A. Tanas, Sr. Services will be held 11 o'clock Thursday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek. Memorials may be directed to the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue.
