He was born April 9, 1921, the son of Johannas and Anna (Bos) Lentenbrink in Kalamazoo. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1945 during World War II. He also served in the U.S. Navy as a mechanical engineer from 1962 through 1965. Bob worked and lived in Kalamazoo most of his life until he moved to Battle Creek in 1971. He and his brother owned and operated a garage and hamburger shop before Bob went to work for the Kool-Aid Bottling Company. He left there to work at Hooker Freight in Battle Creek and retired from there in 1982. He was preceded in death by wives, Martha (Rattos) Lentenbrink, Velma (Dennany) Lentenbrink and Ellen (Cotanche) Lentenbrink and brother, Claude Lentenbrink. He is survived by his son, Norman (Linda) Lentenbrink of Plano, Texas; step-son, Tom (Connie) Speers of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Lentenbrink of Kalamazoo and several nieces and nephews. Bob was a member of St. Joseph Catholic ! Church, the Teamsters Union #7, American Legion Post 54 and the U.S. Navy Reserves. He enjoyed listening to music, traveling, bowling, gardening, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cribbage at Sweetwater Donut Mill. Graveside services will take place 3:00 PM Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier, St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiating. Memorial donations may go to Evergreen Manor activity fund.
