KW, Thank you for your response to my inquiry. Unfortunately the Benjamin that you discovered in the Land Patent Search had to be from a different line. My ancestor was in Ohio until about 1844, where he was married, and then moved to Michigan. He shows up in the MI 1850 census and in 1860 he was back in Ohio. In 1837 he would have been only about 15 years old. Thanks again, I appreciate the feedback. If you do the same thing, you will find a document, not for County in the years you mentioned, but for St Clair County in 1837.
