(Chuck) STAUFFER - Fellsmere, Fla, age 54, died Feb. 23, 1995, at his home. He had been in failing health since the summer of 1994. He was born March 24, 1940, in Cadillac, Mich., a son of Isaac E. (Ike) and Lucille (GERARD) STAUFFER. On July 3, 1984, he married Murial (Pat) CLARK, in Wyoming. He had attended Battle Creek Central HIgh School and then entered the U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1957 to March 27, 1963. He was a private U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1957 to March 27, 1963. He was a private first class. He also served 13 years in the Army National Guard Unit 246 Armor, Cadillac. He moved to Battle Creek as a young child; and from Cheyenne, Wyo., to Fellsmere, Fla., in 1984. He was employed as a small engine and auto mechanic 11 years in Florida; as a mechanic and driver for Cole Brothers Construction; and as a truck mechanic for the Wexford Company from 1972-79. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brothers at their cabin they had! built near Cadillac. He also enjoyed motorcycle hill climbing and racing with his brother Bob. He and his brother Dick had played guitar and sang in a band during the late 1950s and 1960s at the Teen Club, downtown Battle Creek. Surviving are his wife; four sons, Charles (Chuck) STAUFFER, Battle Creek; James W. STAUFFER, Patrick L. STAUFFER, Bronson, and Jennifer STAUFFER, Cadillac; three grandchildren, Christopher, Sara and Derek STAUFFER; two brothers, Robert L. STAUFFER, Springfield, Mich., and Dick E. STAUFFER, Marshall, Mich.; one stepsister, Shirley A. BACHMAN, Battle Creek; on stepbrothers, James D. ENGLAND, Battle Creek. he was preceded in death by his parents. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Road, Battle Creek. Graveside services and burial are 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Emmet Township, Mich., with the Rev. Kingery Clingenpeel officiating.
