This is a pretty well documented family with "The Demarest Family" book under revision currently. There is a Demarest family list on the web. William W. Demarest b. March 16, 1813 is my great great great grandfather. He married Lydia Harriet Steenburg /Steinberg. He had 10 kids, one of whom was William Wallace Demarest b. September 27, 1850. He had another son, Andrew J. Demarest, a Civil War soldier who is my great great grandfather. Andrew J. Demarest had a daughter, Alice B. Demarest who married a George Vincent (b. 1863) on November 6, 1885 in Calhoun County, Michigan. As far as I can tell they had 5 kids - Rollie, Mary, Howard, Tracey and George. I think there might have been a little girl several years after George - not sure. My mom had an old postcard written by Alice to her sister Tessie. I've often wondered what happened to Alice Demarest Vincent and her kids. Most of the family perished in the Great Flu Epidemic of 1919.
