Age 87 Of Parchment, and Formerly of Battle Creek Died Thursday, August 26, 2004 at home. She was born January 21, 1917 in Saginaw County, the daughter of Merle E. and Lula B. (Flowers) Bigger. Alice was formerly employed by the Coldwater Regional Psychiatric Hospital. She was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 56 years, and was also a member of Sunnyside Methodist Church in Kalamazoo. Alice enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and baking and cooking. She is survived by her sons, James Walker of Battle Creek, and Merle Walker of Kalamazoo; and a daughter, Lula Swetz of Drummond Island, MI. She also leaves her sisters, Norma Balko of Marysville, PA, and Narice Maxa of Burt, MI; and eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Russell and Robert Bigger. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Royal Funeral Home, 281 Upton Ave., Battle Creek. Funer! al services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 30, 2004 at Royal Funeral Home. Interment will be at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
