He was born June 15, 1959 in Detroit, MI. Gerard had owned his own pet store for eight years, and then worked as an animal technician for Charles River laboratory for two years until going on early disability. He married the former Tomma R. Pierce on June 21, 1997 in Portage, MI. Gerard is survived by his wife, Tomma R. Grzasko of Portage; his mother, Peggy J. Rocheleau of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Anna B. & Donald Van Denberg and Lola M. & Ronald Van Denberg all of Springfield, MI; and Rose-Mary Grzasko and husband, Bill Vaughn of Tucson, AZ; an aunt, Sue Horn of McMinnville, TN; his wife's parents, Bill Zahrte and Shirley A. Pierce both of Oldsmar, FL; and Tom & Karen Pierce of Port Hueneme, CA; four nieces, one nephew, three great nieces and two great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter P. Grzasko. Gerard was a Battle Creek Central graduate in 1978 and had ! attended KCC. He had lived in Battle Creek in the late 1960s. He had also lived in Detroit and Phoenix. He moved to Portage 1994. He enjoyed computer online gaming, he thoroughly loved animals, going fishing and the company of his friends and family. Visitation will be held at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service after 4 PM Sunday where the family will be present from 4-7 PM. A Rosary service will be held in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 7 PM. Funeral services commemorating Gerard's life will be conducted Monday at 10 AM at the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Father Charles Fischer of St. Philip Catholic Church, officiating. Memorial tributes may be made to the family. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service , a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes. 269-965-5145.
