Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Olney Sr. and Emma Olney, and Eva Olney (step-mother); brother, Edward Olney; half-sister, Ruth Olney and two grandsons, Christopher Shipley and Maxx Freeman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patti Olney, mother of Dana (Sandy) Freeman; Patricia (Cousins) Ross, mother of Michael (Kim) Olney, Judy Noel, Beverly (Tom) Compton, Joseph (Chris) Olney III and Debra (Charlie) Rife; brother, Robert Olney; sister, Betty Friccius and several nieces and nephews. He had 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 4PM at the Korean Seventh-day Adventist Church, 300 W. Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, MI. Per the families request, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or to the Korean Seventh-day Adventist Church. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 3/27/2007.
