He was born on July 13, 1945 in Durand, MI and was a lifetime area resident. John was the son of Forrest W. and Delhia A. (Thomas) Anglin and was a 1963 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and was its drum major. He had been active in numerous bands throughout his life playing the flute, saxophone, organ, keyboard and guitar. He took great pleasure in sunsets, especially at the beach and always enjoyed a round of golf. On July 6, 1997, in Battle Creek, he married the former Elizabeth Jane Braxton. Jane survives along with his daughter, Angela M. (Steven Wesseling) Anglin of Paw Paw, MI; his son, Andrew D. Anglin of Richland, MI; two step-daughters, Leslie M. (David) Barnes of Panama City, FL and Mary J. Koch of Battle Creek; a step-son, Jesse A. Linton of Panama City, FL; three grandchildren, Brendan and Nick Anglin and Hanna Koch; his sister, Janet (Bob) McKelvie of Omaha, NE and a half-brother, Dick Underwood of I! ndianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents. At the request of the family, the memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 157 Chapel Hill Drive, with the Rev. David L. Morton, officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service during a time of fellowship and sharing memories of John. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's honor may be made to the family or the American Heart Association.
