He was born June 6, 1958 in Coldwater, MI, to Leroy and Betty (Schumacher) Baylis. Terry graduated from Union City High School in 1977, and from Western Michigan University in 1985. He was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. He is a member of the First Congregational Church of Union City. He joined the Air Force in 1986 and was stationed in Japan for 3 and a half years. He was honorably discharged in 1992. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Cubs. He enjoyed playing cards. Terry married Vivian Alice Clapp on August 14, 1993 in Kalamazoo. He is survived by his wife; son, Christopher A. Baylis of Wichita Falls, TX; and daughter, Brianna J. Baylis of Battle Creek; his parents, Leroy and Betty Baylis of Union City, MI; brothers, Larry J. Baylis of Coldwater, MI, and Kelly G. Baylis of Union City, MI; and sister, Stacy L. Baylis of Hart, MI; his grandfather, LaVern N. Schumacher of Athens, MI; and grandm! other, Vera L. Baylis of Union City, MI. He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Burton Baylis in 1998; grandmother, B. Lucille Schumacher in 2001; and grandfather, Roy E. Baylis in 1999. Memorial services Thursday, October 14, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Union City with Reverend Wayne Halbleib and Reverend Daniel Biteman Jr. officiating. Military committal Riverside Cemetery in Union City. Memorial donations may be directed to the First Congregational Church or to the charity of your choice.
