He was born on May 20, 1930 in Alpena, MI to Francis and Alvina (Laundry) Fox. Jim served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at F & A Fabricating from 1963 until he retired in 1990. Jim first married Elfretta Bochard, that marriage ended in divorce. He then married Margaret "Peggy" Johnson on April 19, 1984, she survives. Also surviving are sons, James (Brenda) Fox, of Comstock, Dan (Diana) Fox, of Paw Paw, Josh (Shannyn) Fowler, of Hagerstown, MD; daughters, Barbara (Murray) Lawton, of Portage, Beverly (Rob) Warren, of Kalamazoo, Mary (Mike) Crill, of Comstock, Catherine (Bob) Davis, of Valley Center, CA; Chris (Ken) Tomak, of Martin, a sister, Janet McLean, of Burton, MI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Bernard Fox and a sister Theresa Ballard. Jim was a member of American Legion Post #298 and a Lifetime Member of VFW. He enjoye! d playing cards, golfing, fishing, hunting, and reading. Visitation after 9am Sunday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where family will receive friends from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Funeral service 11:30 am Monday at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to American Lung Association. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 11/30/2006.
