Hi all - I just wanted to remind everyone of all the records that are available FREE on line at the Calhoun County MIGenWeb site. The answers to several questions on the mail list lately are already on-line! Here's the site address: http://www.rootsweb.com/~micalhou/ One the left hand column of nearly every one of the 150 pages on the site are icons of the different sections of the site: Home Calhoun County Genealogical Society History Resources Township Resources Vital & Other Records Most of the "real" data is located under "Vital and Other Records." Here you'll find transcriptions of cemeteries, marriage records, death records, tax records, etc. Under Township Resources you'll find phone numbers and address of various township officials. NOTE: there are two search engines also, located on the home page. One from Atomz, and one from Free Find. They each work a little differently, so try them both. The Free Find search is nice because it provides a Site Map. This will help you become familiar with the site's organization. Finally, practice RAOGK - Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness! The records available on the Calhoun and other GenWeb sites are available only because someone took the time (sometimes an untold HUGE number of hours) to put together data and then donate their research. Many volunteers have made the Calhoun site possible. So - all submissions of genealogical data are greatly appreciated. Got a Bible record? Tax lists? Photos? Cemetery records? School lists? Please let me know! You never know when you could help someone else hurdle over their brick wall.
