Information courtesy of Sharon Warner, Homer Index. Floyd H. "Brownie" Campbell, 65, of Litchfield, died Wednesday, November 17, 1999, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. Mr. Campbell was born October 27, 1934, in Calhoun County to Jimmie and Mabel (Wintersteen) Campbell. His first wife, Mildred Patterson, preceded him in death in 1983. He married Shirley Listemann in 1985. She survives. Mr. Campbell lived most of his life in the Litchfield area. He retired from Jackson Iron & Metal where he had been a truck driver for 12 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a former member of the Moose and Eagles lodges, and he enjoyed his grandchildren, fishing and hunting. In addition to his second wife, survivors include seven daughters, Sarah Pratt and Betty Campbell of Jonesville, Carol (Dave) Neff of Flora, Illinois, Ferrel Spieth of Jonesville, Patt Cline of Litchfield, Chris (Kevin) Moran of Reading, and Jan (Aaron) Staten of Litchfield; one son, Chuck (Cindy) Campbell of Milan, Tennessee; three sisters, Vergie (Bob) Moran of Clearwater, Florida, Marge (Jim) Olney of Hanover, and Carol Rucker of Litchfield; six brothers, Forrest Campbell of Ocala, Florida, Homer (Judy) Campbell of Petersburg, Harry Campbell of Monroe, North Carolina, Bill (Mary Lou) Campbell of Russellville, Missouri, Sam (Debbie) Campbell of Clark Lake and Mark Campbell of Waterloo, Iowa; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by a son, Larry VanDorn, three brothers and a sister. Funeral services were Saturday, November 20, at the Litchfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Fulton officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Litchfield. The George White Funeral Home in Litchfield handled the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the Diabetes Association.
