Information courtesy of Sharon Warner, Homer Index. Maurice E. McCullough, 69, of Homer, died Sunday, December 5, 1999, at his residence. Mr. McCullough was born December 28, 1929, in Eckford Township, to Carleen and Elsie (King) McCullough. He married Mary Lou Machin July 22, 1951, in Homer. She survives. Mr. McCullough was a 1948 graduate of Homer High School. He was formerly employed by Union Steel Products in Albion, and later worked for Cal-Bay Farm Equipment, along with Howard Andrews. He also worked for Wonser Farm Equipment in Battle Creek, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church, a former National Guard member in Albion, a member of the Homer Lions Club, a former Cub Scout master, and a member of the Homer Parks and Recreation Committee. Mr. McCullough enjoyed reading, fishing, hunting and golf, and was very interested in Homer history. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. McCullough is survived by his daughter-in-law Sheri McCullough and two grandsons, Josh McCullough and Matt McCullough, all of Homer. He was preceded in death by his son Jeffery in February of 1999; two brothers, Earl and William; and a sister, Lillian. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 7, at the Homer Chapel of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels, with the Rev. Linda Burson officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Homer.
