Norma was born March 17, 1927 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Dewey R. & Venna (Heuck) Manning. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and furthered her education at Kellogg Community College. Norma was employed during the 1950s at Consumers Power Company and during the 1960s at the former L.W. Robinson Department Store. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints in the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo wards and she was also a member of the Kalamazoo Valley Genealogical Society. Norma enjoyed the Arts, reading and geneology. She is survived by her husband, Donald C., whom she married in Battle Creek, July 27, 1946; children, Clare L. (Mary) Ellis of Battle Creek, Guy J. (Susan) Ellis of Irons, MI, Scott V. (Bonnie) Ellis of Battle Creek, Gena M. (Ned) Petersen of Scotts, MI, Reed S. (Laura) Ellis of Rexburg, Idaho and Liz A. (Kent) Wilson of A! merican Fork, Utah; 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. At the request of the family, friends may call at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home after 6 PM Monday, October 8, 2007 where they will be received from 6-8 PM, also at 10 AM Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1312 Capital Ave, S.W. Battle Creek. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 11 AM at the LDS Church. Interment will follow at Bedford Cemetery.
