MI. William was from Leroy Tws and Jane(widow of Leumuel Warriner) from Battlecreek. The 1860 census of Leroy Tws., Calhoun co. lists Lydia Porter, George Beadle, Anna Warriner, Elsie Warriner, Nathaniel Porter (age 4), and Ada C. Porter (age 1) No sign of husband, William Porter. By 1870 Lydia Jane Porter and family have moved to Taylor county, Iowa-still no husband (William). I'm wondering if he died late 1859 or early 1860 and most likely in Calhoun County-or perhaps was killed in the Civil War. Would love to hear from anyone who may shed any light on what happen to William Porter. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Find out why those items were so precious to your ancestors and pass those stories along so that they will be preserved for future generations. "How to Preserve Family Histories and Heirlooms" There are a great number of things that genealogist can and should use to preserve their family histories and heirlooms. In order to preserve our roots and pass them on we need to learn how to take care of them so that they will be available to future generations.
