Sometimes this is still the case even after you have gone to the board and found and read the message that they were replying to. On the other hand, I have gleaned some significant bits of information for such messages and have also been able to make contact with some very helpful folks who were not on the list and whom I otherwise would have never made contact with. I think positives outweigh the negatives and would prefer to keep them. It's really not that hard to hit the delete button.
