A death cert should show the place of burial. BUT considering the time period the family may have decided to burry them near the family home?? Perhaps you can help me with some research in Calhoun. Eliza P. Hudson was born 1850 in NY daughter of Charles D. Hudson and Sophronia Stewart. Married to James Cleveland 1872 in Battle Creek. Died 8 Aug 1879 in a boat house fire on Goguac Lake near Battle Creek along with 2 of her youngest children. I have a newspaper article describing the fire. Her huband James, was a steamboat captain on the Lew Clark and then the Spirit of Battle Creek. Trying to find where Eliza and the children were buried. Have been told that the cemeteries records for the cemeteries around Goguac Lake are not available. Any suggestion or direction is greatly appreciated. Such a tragic family....Eliza's mother was in The State Hospital in Minnesota; her sister Adelia died of TB in the Kalamazoo Asylum. Their father was a minister in Oronoco, Olmstead and died there around 1865-1868. Eliza and Adelia returned to BC to live with an uncle and aun! t. Haven't been able to find out what happened to their brother Bradley either. Hope you can help. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Mrs. Pearl Nickerson was from Ontario, Canada and had married Floyd Eugene Day in Michigan in 1909. Then Mr. Day passed away in 1912. I have found a few documents that state she was working as a nurse at the Battle Creek Sanitarium about 1918-1920. She then remarried Hazen P Nickerson about 1935. Per the social security info, she passed away in March 1987. She was living in Okemos, Ingham, Michigan per the social security info. I also found evidence she lived in Lansing and Battle Creek as well. I would really like to find her obituary, place of burial.
