Author: kelsmit Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.calhoun/4344.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thank you for responding. It's been about a year since my post and was new to genealogy. I believe that is the marriage record for William and Catherine you sent. Here is what I know now: Church records in Marshall have William Canane and Catherine Bresnahan with a son, Michael Joseph Canane being baptized in December 1857. Cornelius Canane is listed as a God parent. I can't find them in the 1860 census. They show up as Keenan in 1870 census. I have not found the entire family in 1880, just William and son John in Brainerd, MN with Cornelius. Church records in Marshall have Cornelius Canane and Susan Reliey married November 1859. They are listed as Keenan in 1860 Census. In 1870 they are listed as Carran in Kalamazoo. I found a C. Canan listed on a Marshall, Calhoun 1873 map with a lot on the corner of Green and Linden Streets. Don't know if this is related. In both the 1870 census for Marshall and Kalamazoo, boys John and William show up. By their ages, I expect they are William and Catherine's sons. I have several other instances in both Marshall, MI and Brainerd, MN of family interactions. I have not found definitive proof of relationship - brothers, cousins? The 1850 census in Detroit might be the right William, no Cornelius seems to be there. I will be looking in this area. Thank you - Mike Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Just ordered the Bio for Bradley P. Hudson. However, I think this Bradley was the uncle of the Bradley I am looking for but always nice to have more info on a family member. The Bradley that I am researching was born one year after the Sr. Bradley died in 1853. In fact, his mother, Harriet Morehouse Hudson and his sister died the same year and all are buried in the Dubous Cemetery in Battle Creek. Just have not been able to find out what happened to the younger Bradley. The Kalamazoo Libray has a wonderful web page with so much info available as does the kalamazoogenealogy web site that you referred me to in the past. Thanks so much and keep up the good work....Lora Hudson Treadwell Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hudson born 1854 in Michigan, son of Charles D. Hudson and Sophronia Stewart. Sisters were Eliza P. and Adelia and a brother Aaron G. Eliza married a James Cleveland, a steamboat captain. Adelia married an Elmer L. Woods and Aaron married a Lydia Eglekraut. His mother Sophronia was committed to the mental hospital near Rochester, MN in 1869 and his father Charles, who might have been a Methodist minister in Oronoco, MN died around 1867. I found a Brodly Hudson in the 1880 census living in Deer Creek, Madison, Nebraska...25 yrs, single, a laborer living with an Ely family....Theodore, Martha and Edward. Haven't found Bradley in the 1900-1930 census. Need suggestion where else to look for Bradley. The sistrs returned from MN to Battle Creek to live with some of Sophronia's family but couldn't find Bradley in any Michigan records. Any suggestion on where to search further is very much appreciated. Happy Holidsys to all and thank you....Lora Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
