Miller of Battle Creek, primarily when and where he died. Willard was born in Assyria, Michigan in September 1968...son of Benjamin Trimmer (1835-1896) and Sarah Frances Trimmer (1843-1921). He was married at least three times. His first wife was Edna Sarah Mapes (1867-1899), then he married Maude M. Southworth of England (1877-1904) and later Pearl P. Devall (1889-1960). He lived most of his life in Maple Grove in Barry County and Battle Creek in Calhoun County. His parents and first wife, Edna, are buried at Wilcox Cemetery in Nashville, Michigan. There is also a Willard Miller interred at that cemetery, but it is Willard HENRY Miller (1873-1930)...son of Henry W. Miller and Mary A. Woods. He primarily lived in Lansing. I did not see Willard N. Miller on the 1920 or 1930 U.S. Census records, so it's possible that he could have died between 1910 and 1920. I don't expect it was anything related to World W! ar I. Pearl Devall was remarried to Lester R. Huddleston by 1920. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :0) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have been working very hard on identifying these pictures and getting them labeled and shared! I've spent countless hours on them! I've tracked people down and they say "How in the world did you find me?". I've even just went off of surnames in an area where I last knew the family was and started calling. I do have some of the pictures on FAG. I do not yet have my tree up on Ancestry but am working diligently on input to Family Tree Maker. I also have to read these thousands of letters. This I do feel is important to do sooner rather than later as I scan them and share them with an elderly cousin (lives 1000 miles away) who remembers my GG Grandmother Malissa Mikel. (I already took her all the pics to review with me.) Some of these letters are before her time, but some are during her time as a young girl and she can elaborate. Either way a joy for her to read as she "KNEW" these people where as most were passed before I came along and th! e others, I barely remember, so I try really hard to get to those too. I do have some pictures posted on the county GenWeb sites. I also have given the Albion Library a copy of some of them on CD. They are working on getting their collection online. Good Luck. I try to post my pictures in several places, Find A Grave, rootsweb and Ancestry.com I know with dealing with a truck of pictures, letters, family papers take a lot of time, but I just remind myself that if I don't get it done, this may happen to our family treasures. Author: grumpy28 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.calhoun/4264.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Not to my knowledge. However, I have not found any good clues to the family of my John V. Lewis (a minister) who came from NY. However, I do know they settled in Marcellus, Cass County around 1850s-1860s. Their son Gage Lewis married Malissa Mikel who had Daisy Lewis who married George Barry. Daisy moved to Calhoun County to be with George in the early 1900s. To my knowledge that is the earliest Lewis I have in Calhoun County, but like I said.... John V Lewis' family is still much of a mystery to me! I did find where he seems to have married again very late in life (in the 1880s) in Bangor and stated he was born in Dryden, NY. That's all I have been able to find on him. Luckily a cousin had a family bible that gave his DOB, his first and 2nd wife's names and marriage dates and their kids names, but that's about all I have. (ie..No locations) I have a picture that says it's Gage's mother and father, which would be John V. Lewis. However, his actual mother died in 1! 863 or 4. (Not at home with my info but that's close) Not sure if this is really her or not. I believe more likely John's 2nd wife who died in 1880. However, could be third???? Not sure when picture was taken. Then again, I have a picture in the chest that I know is prior to 1868 as the man in the picture died then so anything is possible I guess. Good Luck! Unfortunately, the burial site is a very hard to read. I looked on FindAGrave and didn't find him in either East or West Eckford Cemeteries which is the "town" in which it said for the burial. I also looked at the transcripts on Calhoun County, MI Genweb site and didn't find your John Cook. You might send it to Frank Passic, Albion historian or Mary at the Albion History room and maybe they can make heads or tails out of it since they know the area. Both are GREAT! Good Luck!
