I know that she passed away in the 1990s and I will try to get out to the library to get a copy of the obituary for you - probably would be faster then finding the one I have. The tree info has her birth name was Marjorie Blanche Micklatcher born April 5, 1922....not sure if the 5th is correct - as I always heard her birthday was April 8th. I have boxes of stuff from my Mom's and I am sure there are pictures of Margie, Milo and the kids. I will try and get you copies of their obituaries. I may have original ones from the newspapers here some place - my mom saved everything. Milo did work at Kelloggs. The house they lived in was on Riverview, which runs off of VanBuren - it is not close to Ralston's at all. Leathanne is still in Battle Creek - I saw her not even a month ago at my sister's funeral. Author: HMTrailman Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.calhoun/4398.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: >From "A History of Marshall," by Richard Carver, pp 248-9: Carver reports that Dulcenia Church Daily, b. 1820 in NY, who moved to Marengo Twp, MI in 1840, provided in her will for establishment of a home for aged women to be built in Marengo Twp and to be called the Dulcenia Home for Aged and Indigent Females. The location was later made part of the City of Marshall. The house was built in 1899-1901, and was operated by a board of trustees. In later years, the home was operated by Mrs. Mary Katz as a home for the aged of both sexes. It was called the Katz Nursing Home. The home burned in 1962. It was later replaced by a modern nursing home now called Tender Care (as of 1993). Carver has more information and several pictures. I don't believe Dulcenia was ever operated as a prison or similar institution. It was the nursing home of the era, and one which cared for indigent patients, a good place. My Grandfather died at Katz Nursing Home in 1948. John English Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
