I wonder if they even know if that is a paupers field. You could try to contact the caretakers. My father was the grandson of William and Marion Backus Westworth, and his father was Paul Lane Westworth. My father was born in 1921 in Calhoun County, and I remember him talking about Grandma Backus when I was younger, so I think she visited quite often, or possibly lived with them. Evelyn loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed her trips to Hawaii, her summer vacations in Traverse City and road trips in the van. Pastimes included crocheting numerous afghans for her children, grandchildren, and grand dogs and watching old movies where she could name all the stars. She enjoyed her special friends and extended family at the Laurels of Galesburg and the kindness shown by Dr. Schreiner, Life EMS and Renal Care Group. Evelyn is survived by her children, Don (Kathy) Lockwood and Mike Lockwood both of Augusta, Dawn (Garry) Henson, Michelle (Chris) Elsey and Angela Lockwood Swarms all of Galesburg. I am referring you to Mary Ellen Zipple at maryellenzipple@comcast. Mary Ellen has done extensive research on the this Stewart Family. Sophronia Hudson was married to my 3 rd great uncle Charles D. Hudson born 17 Mar 1824 in New York son of Polydore Hudson and Harriet Morehouse. Sophronia and Charles had 4 children Eliza P. born abt 1850 in NY, Bradly P. born abt 1854, Adelia born abt 1858 and Gilbert born Freb 1867. Sadly Sophronia wss admiited to the Rochester Mental Hospitalin 1869. She died in the hospital 3 MAY 1902 and was buried in the hospital cemetary. Some of the Stewarts took the children. To date I have been unable to find where Charles went or if he remarried, died and is buried. Another Stewart researcher, Anita at avonahsen@hotmail.com has a letter than Sophronia written to her family.
